Marcin

Teacher of English at Ditto

Hi there! Nice to see you! My name is Marcin, and I’m a student of English Studies at the Jagiellonian University. Like many others, I’ve been in contact with English for as long as I can remember — music, movies, and short videos on YouTube in English were an integral part of my childhood. If you had asked me 10 years ago what I enjoyed most about learning English, I probably would have said the sheer amount of entertainment it unlocks: being able to play games, read books, or watch movies and series that hadn’t yet been translated into Polish. Today, I’d say the greatest benefits of knowing English are the ability to communicate with people from other countries and the incredible opportunities for self-learning it provides.

It’s no surprise that at the Jagiellonian University, it’s easy to meet students who don’t speak Polish at all. And, in my opinion, the second and most important advantage of knowing English is the access to self-education. Compared to the volume of educational resources available in English on any topic, the Polish market is still in its infancy. Speaking from personal experience, no one explains calculus quite as well as Professor Leonard. Highly recommended!

Now, the most important part. My lessons are always tailored to the student, and the materials we use are highly diverse — films, articles, quizzes, and more. I always try to align the lessons with the student’s interests, which is easy given that my own range of interests is quite broad: from literature, philosophy, cinematography, and music (including its theoretical aspects) to the hard sciences, such as physics and mathematics, which has recently taken up most of my free time.

If you’re looking for engaging lessons on topics that excite both you and me, I look forward to working with you. Cheers and see you in class!
