Hello! My name is Teacher Joanne, and welcome to my classroom!
I am a passionate and experienced educator dedicated to helping students learn, grow, and achieve their goals. Throughout my professional journey, I have worked as a school nurse in an elementary school, served as a school principal, and trained teachers in educational settings.
I specialize in teaching children ages 3 to 15 and have extensive experience teaching English as a Second Language (ESL) to students from different countries and cultural backgrounds. I am TESOL and TEYL certified, which allows me to provide effective, age-appropriate, and engaging lessons for young learners.
My teaching style is positive, patient, and interactive. I use Total Physical Response (TPR), props, games, songs, and rewards to make learning enjoyable and memorable. I believe that students learn best when they are having fun and feeling confident.
Outside of teaching, I enjoy singing, swimming, dancing, traveling, and watching movies. These hobbies help me bring energy, creativity, and real-world experiences into my lessons.
Teaching is my passion, and nothing makes me happier than seeing my students gain new skills and confidence. I understand that learning a new language can be challenging and requires plenty of practice, but you don't have to do it alone. I am here to guide and support you every step of the way.
In my classroom, we will sing, read, play games, practice speaking, and explore exciting topics together. We can even have conversations about anything under the sun while improving your English skills.
